ILLUSTRATION SERVICES  & how to use them
Step 1. Know your readers Step 2. Your book category ILLUSTRATORS

When you first sat down to write your children's book, what age group did you have in mind? Is your book meant for toddlers, kindergartners, or older kids? Each age group has a different perspective on what is interesting, fun, and exciting in a story. The illustrations need to be tailored by reader's age, book genres and writer's vision. If you have a clear idea of who your reader will be, and you already have a concept in mind for your illustrations, please go to Step 2.

If you are not sure, you can browse the illustrations' categories (on the right) and see where your book would fit better. We can also help you make the right choice if you refer to our Reading & Critique services. If you do not know how many illustrations you might need, please enlist our Layout service. You can come back later and choose your illustrator.

To simplify your illustrator's selection process, we have compounded and overlapped some traditional children's books categories to create 5 illustration groups usually used by children's books illustrators to define their artwork style. We are confident your book would easily fall within the boundaries of one of them.

Please determine which category best defines your book. You'll find a list of illustrators and rates in each section.

1 Picture Books & Cartoons
(2-5 age group)
2 Whimsical & Chapter Books
(4-8 age group)
3 Traditional/Realistic
(any youth group)
4 Fantasy & Sci-Fi
(4-15 age group)
5 Computer/Mixed Mediums
(any youth group)

If, God forbid, you cannot find the right illustrator for your needs among our artists, please let us know (giving us specifics) and we'll find him/her for you!
Step 3. Choose your illustrator!

Keep in mind that before the first line of your book is read, the artwork will attract children, parents and educators to open it. We proudly represent an array of talented and experienced children books illustrators. Please select the illustration category to the right, and browse the sample artworks and price ranges of each artist.

All our illustrators have agreed to release all illustration rights for your specific project, retaining only the right to use the artwork created in their portfolios and self promotion materials. (Once you choose an illustrator, we will devise a customized contract where payment terms, copyrights release, mile stones and timetable will be all spelled out.)

Once you choose the category that applies to your book, all rates will be listed on illustrators' individual pages.
